– ABOUT –
Her main goal was to create a made-in-Italy, feather-light costume jewellery line, using a mix of unconventional and stylish materials to forge clean-shaped pieces, blending contemporary yet timeless designs. Pure and geometric lines are used to embrace class and elegance in every occasion and to add a touch of sophistication.
The limited, handmade, Milan-based production results in an exclusive, delicate and romantic costume jewellery line for all ages at an accessible price.
Rosa Castelbarco draws her inspiration from nature, starting with her own name and logo which is a rose from a precious sketch made by Italian painter Renato Guttuso for her aunt.
Minimalism is the key to her work: her creations are conceived as light decorations on the skin, including thin and thicker chains, raw stones and minerals, geometric shapes and essential design to wear day and night.
Rosa’s passion for the world of costume jewellery harks back to memories of her beloved grandmother, who every day would set out on her bed the clothes to wear and the accessories that would complete her outfit: family jewels.
She would always combine them with pieces of lighter and “casual” jewellery to give her style a unique, personal touch.
After growing up in Milan and completing her university degree, Rosa left for New York to continue her studies at the NY Film Academy. Her creative career then steered towards the fashion world, and she worked in the press office of Walter Steiger.
It was this inspiring environment that prompted Rosa to return to Milan, in 2014, and launch her own brand of jewellery named after the designer herself: Rosa Castelbarco.
